Is what I tell you confidential?

Everything you tell me is confidential and will not be repeated outside the counselling room except in the following circumstances:
* I have regular consultations (supervision) with a senior colleague as required by the ethical guidelines of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. Supervision helps and supports me in my work and ensures that I am working ethically and in your best interests;
* There is a legal requirement to report if I believe that either you or someone else is at risk of harm. In those circumstances I will always try to discuss this with you first.


What is your privacy policy?

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), any personal information sent via this website will only be used to contact you with details of services you have requested. No personal details will be retained for any other purpose, not will they be shared with any other organisation or individual.


How long are sessions?

Sessions last for 50 minutes and are usually held at the same time and day on a weekly basis.

How much will it cost and will I have to pay for missed sessions?

My fees are £65 per session. Commitment is a vital aspect of the therapeutic relationship and I therefore charge for unattended sessions except by prior arrangement.


If you cannot help me?

I will try to refer you to other professionals or organisations if either of us feel that my service is unsuitable for you.

Where is your consulting room?

My consulting room is situated on a main road in Hoddesdon and is easily accessible by bus - 310, 316 and 317- from Hertford, Ware, Harlow, Broxbourne, Cheshunt and Waltham Cross; and is a 15 minute walk from Rye House station, with links to stations between Liverpool Street, Tottenham Hale and Hertford East. How will I know when it is time to end?

The sessions will end when you feel the time is right.I usually set a date a few weeks or months ahead, depending on how long you have been coming, in order to tie up any loose ends and give us time to address any feelings of loss and anxiety which may come to the surface in the process of ending.
